I recently got a call from a company out in California who is in the Garage Door
Business. This man explained to me that they were using Quick Books to handle
most of their business needs including Inventory. He went on to talk about how
Quick Books had a Receiptto Stock
process that increased the Balance-On-Hand quantity, and that
when Quick Books went through the Invoice process it then
reduced that Balance-On-Hand quantity. Sounds good, but the only trouble was
that his inventory wasn’t in one place, it was in six. He had five company trucks
that needed to have parts in them so that when they did installations and needed
a part, the worker could go out to the truck and get it. What he needed was
a good way to keep track of all five truck inventories.Then he asked two questions.
